Dark wood kitchen
A modern and dark wooden kitchen

A modern and dark wooden kitchen.
Thanks to the natural grain of the oak and the layering of the veneer, you can see shifts through the dark stain. The pores (structure) in the wood create micro shadows which give more life when the light bounces on the door. The design is minimalist and handleless. A beautiful marriage between stripped-down design and dark stained wood that together create a cozy feeling.
The wall of tall cabinets is framed and gives a built-in and slightly floating feeling. In addition to the integrated oven and microwave, you will also find an integrated fridge and freezer on either side of the worktop. To maintain the minimalist look, we milled grip strips into the cover sides. The top cabinet doors are higher than the frames, which creates a natural grip strip of a couple of centimeters at the bottom. The overlap also nicely hides the LED strip underneath.
The tall cabinet on the far right serves as a pantry and holds four drawers and a shelf. For those who are good at sorting at source, there are usually not enough bins in the sink cabinet. That’s why there is a drawer on the left with space for further sorting and a low shelf to put all the bags in.
On the short side, there is room to place the all-important coffee maker with a beautiful display for mugs and glasses. Together with recessed light strips, it becomes a focal point that helps to create coziness.

"Thanks to the natural grain of the oak and the laying of the veneer, you can see shifts through the dark stain"
By building a slightly narrower kitchen island, 110cm, it created a very good work surface where the hob is centrally placed together with a 30 cm wide sink. Tip! Choose a sink at least 30 cm wide. After careful planning, the client prioritized storage over seating around the island. There are also two wide, narrow drawers with space for various items such as pens and paper. There are also two double cabinets underneath.
Closest to the dining table on the kitchen island you will find the star of the kitchen. A brilliant suggestion from the client. They had realized that as a family with two teenagers, there is an insatiable need for toasted sandwiches. The toaster – the appliance that often moves in and out of the cupboard and with crumbs dripping. Yes, you probably know. The video shows the clever solution to the problem – the machine lift! What would you put on the lift in your kitchen?
