Frequently asked questions about wooden kitchens
As our wooden kitchens are bespoke, they can have a variety of designs and customizations – that’s the beauty of bespoke! This also means that the price can vary greatly and is affected by, among other things, the choice of material, the size of the room, the choice of cabinet fittings and any special solutions.
The most popular woods for wooden kitchens are oak, ash and walnut – each with its own unique character and feel.
- Oak is timeless, durable and has a distinctive grain that gives a classic look.
- Ash is slightly lighter in color and has an elegant, slightly softer texture – perfect for those who want to create a light and airy impression.
- Walnut has a deep, warm tone and a natural elegance that is often used in high-end kitchens with lots of character.
All of these woods age beautifully, taking on an even richer tone over time – a natural patina that only real materials can offer. By choosing the right wood for your home, you can create a kitchen that feels both personal and timeless.
Solid wood is just that – the whole piece is made of wood right through. It gives a genuine feel and natural weight, and can be sanded and treated over and over again. Veneered wood, on the other hand, consists of a thin layer of real wood glued to a stable frame, often MDF or plywood.
The difference is noticeable in both feel and price – veneered shutters are usually slightly lighter and more cost-effective, while still carrying the beauty of wood.
