Participants in household dreams season 12
Peter has taken on the challenge of building a log house in the remote part of western Härjedalen. He is building it all himself, far from the roads, where he plans to live with his dog Berit. But time is short – the house must be finished before winter returns to Ljungdalen. For Peter, building became more than just a house project. It became an inner journey where he reflected on loneliness, relationships and the future.
Petra and Oliver are transforming a 400 square meter old school building in Hömb, Västergötland, into a vibrant and unique home. Olliver, who loves to create, designs innovative details that add to the home’s character. The high quality of their work and their sense of color is impressive but also involves a big investment.
In Stockholm, Paulin and Tomas, parents of three children, choose to downsize from 150 to 60 square meters to live a freer life. They have two months to complete the project before they have to move in. Their goal is to transform their newly purchased two-bedroom apartment into a compact five-bedroom home where every space must be used to the maximum. After two months of hard work, the apartment was ready. The family had downsized, but they had also gained something priceless – more time, more freedom and an opportunity to prioritize life outside the home
During the pandemic, Solveig, an architect who had lived in New York for many years, began to yearn for nature. This led her to buy a house in Skåne and create a unique home with a floating roof, inspired by the feeling of freedom, in an open field in Österlen.
Mark and Sara are working to transform a charming station house in Västra Klagstorp into a pleasant place to live. After many late nights, hard work and several surprises, the station house begins to take shape as a home.
Trine and Magnus are transforming an old farmhouse, formerly a bakery, into a warm family home in the heart of Lund. Despite budget overruns and time delays, the couple feel they have created their dream home – a perfect balance of history and modern living.
Lisa and Fabien are giving new life to an old trading post in Lye, Gotland, but are encountering problems with planning permission, making it a lengthy process. But they have a clear vision and a tireless will to see it through.
Leonore and David take on a large farm in Österlen to create their dream home.
Young couple Siri and Oskar put their personal stamp on a house in the rural idyll of Grönalund in Skåne.
Interior design trends in House Dreams 2025
The 2025 season is expected to reflect several current trends in interior design. In recent years, we have seen an increased focus on sustainability, natural materials and a more personal expression in our homes. Here are some trends we at Stiligt believe will characterize House Dreams 2025:
- Natural materials: Wood, stone, linen and recycled materials are becoming increasingly important, not only for their aesthetic value but also for their environmental impact.
- Deep color palettes: In contrast to the dominance of white and grey in previous years, we are now seeing more and more people choosing earthy tones such as beige, brown and green to create a calm and harmonious indoor environment.
- Multifunctional solutions: With more work at home and more time at home, flexible room solutions are in demand. Built-in bookshelves with integrated desks, or smart storage solutions in the kitchen, can become a common thread in House Dreams 2025.
- Contrasts between old and new: Many people are inspired by mixing vintage finds with modern design, creating a personalized feel and a home with history.
