House Dreams is back and with it the stories of the brave visionaries who dare to go for their housing dreams. The first episode of the season offered a fascinating journey back to five former participants – all with unique stories that still inspire. Here’s a deep dive into what’s happened since the cameras went off, and how their dreams continue to evolve.

Anna and Lars - From Beach Road to Dream Farm

For Anna and Lars, the journey began in a charming house on Copenhagen’s exclusive Strandvejen, but their longing for something more led to a new lifestyle. Today, they are running an ambitious project: turning an old farm into a bed and breakfast with a café and shop. Lars has left his previous job to invest wholeheartedly in the farm, and the couple’s commitment reflects their philosophy of following their hearts and daring to venture into the unknown.

Emma and Luke - Contrasts in Harmony

Architect Emma and doctor Lukas refused to demolish the old croft on their plot outside Uddevalla, choosing instead to build an ultra-modern extension. The house, with its green kitchen and black bathroom, is a celebration of contrasts. Today, the family lives a harmonious life in their dream home, but the road there has been fraught with challenges, not least for their young daughter’s health.

Lars in Genarp - Passion and Perfectionism

Rebuilding an old truck garage is not for the impatient. Lars in Genarp has transformed the industrial building into a residential home with character, but hasn’t yet moved in. Instead, he has continued to work on details – from a custom-built fan to an elegant staircase system. For Lars, it’s the process, rather than the destination, that is the real reward.

Erik and Marie - Life on the Coast

When Erik and Marie left Kungsbacka to settle permanently in their summer paradise of Borstahusen, a lifelong dream was fulfilled. Despite extensive renovations, including roof reinforcement and moisture damage, they have created a home that they love. With the sea as a neighbor and a harmonious everyday life, it is clear that the couple has found home.

Ewa and Börje - The Sheep House that Transformed Life

Leaving the hustle and bustle of the big city for a converted sheep house on Lake Hornborga was a life-changing journey for Ewa and Börje. Their house is as much a personal triumph as an architectural achievement, complete with a newly built orangery. Life in the countryside has given the couple new energy and a deeper connection to their dreams.

Closure

House dreams remind us that every dream is unique. For some, it’s about creating something lasting, for others, the journey and the process are as important as the end goal.
