In the first episode of Husdrömmar, we go on an emotional and dramatic journey with Tommy and Fredrika, who have decided to build their dream house for the second time. The project, named Villa Agnes, promises luxury, spaciousness and an almost cinematic grandeur. But life often has its own plans, and this archipelago dream south of Gothenburg turns into much more than a house. It becomes a story about relationships, hopes and how to deal with life’s unexpected twists and turns.

Background information
Tommy, 41, from Norway, and Fredrika, 38, from Mölndal, live an active life with their two children, Eskil and Agnes. After building a house that many would already consider a dream home, they decided to take a new, bold step. This time it would be bigger, more luxurious and with a distinct Hollywood feel. “We thought Tommy and Fredrika had already built a dream house. It makes you curious. What’s going to happen here?” the presenter comments with a mixture of fascination and anticipation.

Facts about the house
Location: Malivik, south of Gothenburg
Size: About 600 sqm in total, with 400-410 sqm living space
Construction start: April 2012
Choice of materials: Concrete, glass, exclusive interior details
Budget: Final sales price SEK 12.3 million
Challenges on the Road
Despite the strong vision and carefully thought-out plans, the project encountered many obstacles. Construction issues, patience-testing details like the monumental staircase and the tough work-life balance created friction. But the biggest test came unexpectedly: Tommy and Fredrika decided to separate before the house was even finished. “It’s a great sadness, because it’s a big part of our lives. And the children’s,” reflects Fredrika.

Design and Inspiration
Villa Agnes was intended to be a home that reflected both elegance and functionality. With an open floor plan, grand windows and a luxurious pool, a place for both celebration and family life was created. “It’s all-in now. Movie theater in the basement, gym, spa – the works!” Tommy exclaims with enthusiasm during one of the brighter moments.
Final result
Despite the separation, Tommy and Fredrika decided to complete the house together. Villa Agnes was eventually sold for SEK 12.3 million, and became a home for a new family. “I am happy for those who have bought the house. They will have a fantastic house and I hope they will be happy,” says Fredrika with a mixture of pride and sadness.
