Giving a house a new life - the house move in Stenungsund
Linus and Karin in Stenungsund, Sweden, faced a difficult decision: to demolish or preserve their old house when they planned to build a new one. The solution was both creative and sustainable – they built their new home around the old one and donated the older house to Dick and Christel, a family who saw the potential in giving the house a new place and future.
The move was a logistical challenge. Preparations included driving down the chimney, lifting off heavy concrete pans and reinforcing the structure. Using lifting straps and a giant crane truck, the house was split into two parts for safe transportation. The cost of the move itself amounted to around SEK 160 000, while groundwork and foundations added another SEK 340 000.
For Dick and Christel, it was a journey of patience and preparation. Once the house was in its new location, they could finally start dreaming of creating a home for themselves and their family.

Tiny house on wheels - from dream to everyday life
Andrea Ottander and Jonathan Lystbaek Jögensen dreamed of living small and sustainably. Their 17-square-meter tiny house became a reality that now rolls on wheels. Although the house was built with plans to move to Copenhagen, it ended up in Gothenburg where Andrea got a job with Gert Wingårdh.
Moving a house on wheels has its own challenges. Weighing just under 3.5 tons, it was necessary to secure all the fittings and plan the transport carefully. A stormy day with strong winds on the Öresund Bridge could have jeopardized the whole project, but the move went smoothly. Now their tiny house sits on a rented plot in Gothenburg, complete with smart solutions like a fold-down dining area and a living room that doubles as a home theater.

Bergskuben in Västra Frölunda - innovation meets perseverance
Emelie Tolinsson and Mikael Sundebäck have turned their home in Bergskuben into a monument to persistence and creativity. The inaccessible plot, located on a rocky outcrop, has not prevented them from realizing their ideas – rather, it has inspired them.
The latest episode showed them installing their third elevator after previous mishaps, while building two outhouses at the entrance to the site. It’s clear that their house is an ongoing project, where innovation meets a relaxed approach to time. With details like a luxurious, spinning cylindrical wardrobe, they prove that function and design can go hand in hand.
