Walk in closet in classic style
Walk in closet classic style
In an architect-designed 1960s villa with a magnificent view of Askim, we at Stiligt were commissioned to design a “master wing” – an extension with a bedroom, walk-in closet and bathroom. The growing family needed more space and also wanted a place separate from the other bedrooms, a place where you can close the door and be alone. With a keen interest in architecture, the client also wanted to keep the 60s feel, a challenge we were more than happy to take on. Read more about this classic-style walk-in closet – where retro meets modern design.
American walnut in wall to wall
Before you step through the double doors, you’ll find a small TV room with American walnut bookshelves, beautifully built in from wall to wall. The large window is perfectly framed by the walnut, whose natural brown color blends with the brown-stained window frames. The integrated LED lighting provides an atmospheric focal point in the evening.
Once inside the family’s walk-in closet, the eye is greeted by a stylish paneled wall with a wall-mounted dresser. The room is symmetrically divided into “his and hers” and the panel ties the sides together and gives a sense of unity. We managed to visually hide the sloping ceiling, and in order not to steal too much visual space, we built a wall-hung chest of drawers, complemented by an Italian leather top and a finger-jointed oak drawer. The oak drawers create a nice contrast and add to the unique look.

"American walnut, beautifully built from wall to wall"
Sophisticated design and thoughtful lighting
Stylish and harmonious with luxurious details
The doors of the wardrobes are in American walnut with a quarter-sawn finish, creating a more linear structure. The Helix 20mm knobs from Beslags Design are treated with antique bronze. The knurled surface gives a tactile feel and a good grip.
Sophisticated design and thoughtful lighting
The bathroom is as stylish and harmonious as the bedroom. The large Porcelanosa tiles, model Liam, are the first thing that attracts the eye. The dresser has a custom-made stone sink from Cosentino, made of Dekton, a very durable material. The dressing table with the beautiful Astoria wall lamp and the dark-tinted shower glass pick up details from the family’s walk-in closet and create a feeling that everything is connected.
The end result is a modern walk-in closet with a classic feel
The end result is a master wing that retains the feel of the 60s, while adding distinctly modern touches. A true masterpiece – if we may say so ourselves.

Frequently asked questions
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about ordering a Platsbygg walk-in closet from Stiligt
The delivery time for a custom-built walk-in closet is typically 6–10 weeks.
To guarantee the best possible quality, we currently carry out installations ourselves. However, we will soon make it possible for customers to install their site buildings themselves.
Stiligt does not have its own construction tradespeople, but for projects in and around Gothenburg, we have a list of skilled tradespeople we can recommend.
We want to offer affordable, completely unique, and custom-made solutions. That’s why we don’t use middlemen, resellers, or expensive showrooms. Instead, we use 3D visualization so you can see what our solutions will look like in your home. However, we are available for scheduled appointments at our office in Gothenburg.
We carry out site visits throughout Europe. For a free quote, we ask our customers to first fill out a price request via the website, so that we can get back to you with an approximate quote. Then we can make a home visit where we measure the rooms and go through the choice of materials.
We operate primarily in Stockholm, Skåne, and Västra Götaland County. However, given the location of our factory in Poland, we are well-positioned to deliver throughout Europe. For longer distances, we have higher requirements regarding order value.
Our site-built solutions can have a variety of designs and customizations – that’s the beauty of site-built! This also means that the price can vary greatly and is affected by, among other things, the choice of material, the size of the room, the choice of cabinet fittings and any special solutions.
The down payment is due when the order is placed, no later than 6 weeks before delivery. The down payment is 50% of the cost of the woodwork (excluding installation and shipping).
Our cabinetmakers build, transport, and install. This minimizes damage to the products, and as a customer, you can rest assured that we take full responsibility every step of the way. Another advantage of handling the building, transport, and installation ourselves is that it shortens the installation time.
Under the Consumer Sales Act, you have a 3-year warranty on doors and frames. Hinges and tracks generally come with a 10- to 20-year warranty, with certain exceptions.
Since our products are custom-ordered and unique to each customer, there is no right of withdrawal once the deposit has been paid.
We’re happy to assist you with ordering a countertop. In the Gothenburg area, we primarily work with Kungälvs Natursten. In addition to a wide variety of natural stone, our selection also includes Dekton, Silestone, and Technistone.
Custom-built walk-in closet: approximately 3–8 days.
